The roster of 11 high-calibre NHL players hit the ice at Glengarry Sports Palace on Saturday, October 27, 2018, to compete against our own Glens Alumni team in the Montreal Canadiens Alumni Tour.

The event was an incredible day for our community, witnessing the speed, accuracy, and skillsets of some of NHL’s biggest stars. Getting to meet the team after the game was tops. The arena was jam-packed with fans who experienced a monumental day in North Glengarry’s hockey history…for some, the thrill of a lifetime.

Yvon Lambert, Guy Carbonneau and Guillaume Latendresse later when on to say how they loved playing in our arena and were pleasantly surprised by how bilingual and warm-hearted our town is. They said they loved playing the Glengarry Sports Palace which was an intimate full house. Being ‘piped in’ in was a first for them which they found very special! They felt very welcomed and appreciated by all.

This magnificent event was co-hosted by HGMH Foundation and The Township of North Glengarry. A massive thank you to all the volunteers and to the local minor hockey league players and coaches who participated and gave their time to help make this day magical.

Go Habs Go!
