Sixty years ago, a hospital came to life in Alexandria to serve everyone in Glengarry, Stormont, Dundas and beyond. So what has changed since then? In a word, everything. Emerging new technologies, a global health crisis, the rise of Ontario Health Teams, even the Internet didn’t officially exist back then – and the list could go on and on. Suffice to say, the hospital that was carefully planned and built six decades ago lacks much of the infrastructure required to continue its evolution today.

That is our whole-community challenge. That is why we created our new 5-year Strategic Plan. Our goal is to imagine the future of hospital care and services 20 years from now and work toward it. This is a positive, exciting time for your hospital and our team 

Because what hasn’t changed at Glengarry Memorial Hospital through all those years is the commitment, expertise and passion we all feel when we enter the building or meet members of our team. It was this passion for care from the Board through every department that attracted me to come here in the first place (3 years ago now). That passion elevates the care you get here now just as it will 20 years from now. I look forward to making the journey with you.
