It’s more than a broken ankle, broken arm…

Zach Chenier is a local business owner who has a long history with Glengarry Memorial Hospital – he’s likely on a first-name basis with many of the emergency department staff. That happens when you’re a lifelong resident of a small, tightly-knit community. But for Zach, supporting the local hospital is about more than paying back the great care he’s received for numerous injuries and issues over the years.

“Why I give is very simple: We’ll all need the local hospital sooner or later. We’ll all use it. For business owners, it helps us attract people, keep people and keeps our people in good health. It just puts us on the map and that has a positive impact for everyone who lives here.”

Zach’s custom fabrication shop – Fabri-tech Creations Inc. – is located on 32 acres just outside of town. And if you like motorcycles, it’s a beautiful place to behold.

“We fix and customize ATVs, snowmobiles and motorcycles – especially motorcycles, and even more important, Harley-Davidson road bikes – the big bikes. This is not your typical bike shop. It’s a labour of love for my team. Helping the hospital is also a labour of love for us. That’s why we organized a big BBQ fund-raising event last year to raise money for the hospital. It’s why we’re holding an even bigger BBQ event to help the hospital raise funds for the new CT Scanner this September. This is a small community – so every bit anyone can do is a big deal.”

Local business owners like Zach Chenier are also community leaders, each in their own way. They employ local residents, provide valuable services and they support their community.

“Not having a local hospital wouldn’t be good for business. That’s the truth. The opposite is just as true – having a local hospital is good for everyone. That’s why I support it.”

Thank you Zach.
