Alexandria Moulding Pledges $30,000 to Support Rural Healthcare Through HGMH Foundation

Alexandria, ON — Alexandria Moulding is making a meaningful contribution to rural healthcare in Stormont, Dundas, and Glengarry after its CHEO and Charities Committee selected the La Fondation de l’Hôpital Glengarry Memorial Hospital (HGMH) Foundation as a charitable recipient.

The company has pledged $30,000 to be donated over five years, beginning in 2026, providing $6,000 annually to support critical healthcare services. This year, Alexandria Moulding exceeded its annual pledge by contributing $8,000, demonstrating strong leadership and commitment to local healthcare.

This contribution highlights Alexandria Moulding’s dedication to local healthcare initiatives, ensuring that essential medical services and modern equipment remain accessible to residents and employees in the community.

“Alexandria Moulding chose to support local healthcare because we believe strongly in giving back to the community that we’re part of. Supporting local initiatives allows us to have a direct, meaningful impact on the people who live and work alongside us every day,” said Kurt Macdonald, Branch Manager of Alexandria Moulding.

Contributions from local businesses are vital to sustaining rural healthcare. Donations to the HGMH Foundation directly fund essential medical services, purchase state-of-the-art equipment, and support ongoing improvements to patient care at Hôpital Glengarry Memorial Hospital.

Mark Adam, Chairman of the HGMH Foundation Board of Directors, expressed gratitude for Alexandria Moulding’s support.

“Alexandria Moulding’s support demonstrates the impact local employers can have on healthcare in rural communities,” Adam said. “Their decision to invest locally helps ensure that high-quality care remains accessible for patients and families in our region.”

Macdonald also emphasized the importance of business leadership in rural healthcare.

“To other business leaders considering a similar commitment, we believe that local healthcare needs everyone’s involvement. Stepping up helps ensure essential services and technologies are available close to home, benefiting employees, families, and neighbours alike. Supporting local healthcare is an investment in the strength, resilience, and well-being of the entire community,” Macdonald closed.

The HGMH Foundation works with community organizations and local businesses through initiatives such as Business Steps Up, which encourages companies to support vital healthcare services and medical equipment at HGMH.

Sabourin Family’s Legacy of Giving Supports New CT Scanner at Hôpital Glengarry Memorial Hospital

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

    January 13, 2026

Alexandria, ON — The Glengarry Memorial Hospital Foundation is thrilled to announce a $50,828.50 securities donation from Kim and Denis Sabourin to support the Foundation’s CT Scanner Campaign. Their gift brings Hôpital Glengarry Memorial Hospital (HGMH) closer to acquiring a state-of-the-art CT scanner, improving diagnostic services and keeping care close to home.

Reflecting on their family’s long connection to the hospital, the Sabourins said:

“This donation is in recognition of the care that HGMH has provided to our families and our community for generations. We are honoured to support the acquisition of a new CT scanner through this donation. Following the example set by our father, Hubert Sabourin, we are proud to contribute to keeping the hospital equipped with modern, life-saving technology, ensuring it remains accessible and available to serve the community for years to come. It is our hope that this contribution supports the continued delivery of high-quality care to all who depend on it.”

A new CT scanner will improve diagnostic accuracy, reduce patient transfers, and support faster treatment decisions for patients across Glengarry and neighbouring communities.

“This extraordinary gift from Kim and Denis is a powerful example of stewardship rooted in community,” said Mark Adam, Chair of the HGMH Foundation Board. “Through our Be a Healer movement, community members are funding priority medical equipment, like a new CT scanner, that is not covered by government funding. Donors become healers by enabling faster, more accurate diagnosis and treatment for families and neighbours across Glengarry.”

The HGMH Foundation continues to welcome support for the CT Scanner Campaign. To donate, volunteer, or learn more, visit www.hgmhfoundation.org.

More than 100 guests attended the evening organized by Céline Séguin and Michel Diotte from the Bonnie Glen Pavilion. Message from the CEO

Learn more about the future of Glengarry Memorial from CEO Rob Alldred-Hughes

Sixty years ago, a hospital came to life in Alexandria to serve everyone in Glengarry, Stormont, Dundas and beyond. So what has changed since then? In a word, everything. Emerging new technologies, a global health crisis, the rise of Ontario Health Teams, even the Internet didn’t officially exist back then – and the list could go on and on. Suffice to say, the hospital that was carefully planned and built six decades ago lacks much of the infrastructure required to continue its evolution today.

That is our whole-community challenge. That is why we created our new 5-year Strategic Plan. Our goal is to imagine the future of hospital care and services 20 years from now and work toward it. This is a positive, exciting time for your hospital and our team

Because what hasn’t changed at Glengarry Memorial Hospital through all those years is the commitment, expertise and passion we all feel when we enter the building or meet members of our team. It was this passion for care from the Board through every department that attracted me to come here in the first place (3 years ago now). That passion elevates the care you get here now just as it will 20 years from now. I look forward to making the journey with you.
